Complete Behavioral Consultation

This 90-120 minute consultation is the most common type of appointment.  It is intended for the pet with complex behavior issues such as aggression, reactivity, anxiety, chronic house soiling and more. The fee for cats is $300 and dogs is $350 not including the cost of medication or equipment. The consultation includes:

  • review of written behavior history and in-person interview

  • observation and evaluation of your pet’s temperament and behavior

  • physical examination

  • explanation of your pet’s behavior and prognosis for improvement

  • written personalized treatment plan with additional handouts and helpful resources

  • prescribed medications (if appropriate) with 6 months of monitoring

  • referral report sent to your pet’s regular veterinarian or trainer

  • 3 months of email/phone follow-up included


Evaluation-only Consults  

This 60-minute appointment is intended for pet owners with the current and ongoing support of a professional dog trainer, foster owners associated with rescue groups and owners with a pet they may not keep/treat. The fee is $175 and the consult includes:

  • Medical and behavioral evaluation

  • Explanation, prognosis

  • Written report including assessment, prognosis, general treatment recommendations and suitable placement requirements

  • Follow-up consultation is not included and must be scheduled separately if needed.

TELEPhone Consultation

This 60-minute appointment is offered for pet owners that are not able to travel with their pets and live outside our house call range. Behavior medication recommendations can be made if appropriate, but not prescribed without in-person evaluation. The fee is $175. Additional fees apply if ongoing phone/email support is needed. The consult includes:

  • review of written behavior history and telephone interview

  • explanation of your pet’s behavior and prognosis for improvement

  • written personalized treatment plan with additional handouts and helpful resources

  • referral report sent to your pet’s regular veterinarian or trainer

 

Follow-up Consultation 

The necessity of in-person follow-up depends on the type and severity of your pet’s behavior problem.  All pets on prescribed medication must have recheck appointments every 3, 6 or 12 months depending on stability of treatment. Appointments are generally 30-60 minutes and the the fee range is $85-175.
